![]() With Starfield being the center of the Xbox 2023 Showcase last week, Bethesda gave us a deep dive into one of the biggest games this generation. It’s a 5th-tier skill, but it's necessary when things really start to heat up. The more Freakers you can hit per shot is always a good thing. It increases the projectile penetration of a bullet, allowing shots to pass through Freakers and hit more behind it. This is where Two Birds, One Bullet comes in handy. While the first hours of the game will have you focusing on smaller groups of Freakers, you’ll eventually be faced head-on with large packs of them called Hordes. Being able to reload your gun while hastily escaping from the undead using the On The Move perk is pretty much a must. But sometimes, having to completely turn-tail and sprint away from your enemies is a must. In combat, you never want to not be moving. It may not seem like much, but in a pinch, it’s the difference between life or death. With the Busted Lip ability, every time you take an enemy down with a melee kill, you’ll get a bit of stamina back. The last thing you want is to be caught in a big group of Freakers, with little to no stamina to dodge-roll, or sprint away. Pair this with Crowd Control, which reduces the cooldown of Focus Shot, and you’ll be able to use it more freely. It has a cooldown, of course, so make sure to use it wisely. To help with this, you’ll want to drop a point into Focused Shot, which allows you to slow down time for a few seconds, while also dramatically increasing accuracy. Which means you’re definitely going to want to land as many shots as possible. Keep an eye on the durability though - if it falls to zero, the weapon will still break without the option of repairing it.įocused Shot and Crowd Control - Ranged Combatĭid we mention that ammo was scarce already? We did. With the Field Repairs skill, you’ll gain the option to fix up your favorite melee weapon with scrap found throughout the world. Unfortunately, they can break fairly easily depending on the type, leaving you with nothing but a dinky boot knife. Ammo is scarce in the post-apocalypse, which means you’re going to be using melee weapons a lot.
